Volunteering

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Cowal Befrienders. They contribute over 200 Befrien
ding hours to the service each month and enable us to offer the service to many more people than would otherwise be possible.

We hope to have a volunteering role to suit you - whatever your skills, experience or background are, we may have a role to suit you. If you have just a few hours a wee
k to spare volunteering can:
"It's a pure pleasure to do it! A chance to give something back".
(Volunteer feedback included in Independent Project Evaluation - March 2011)

  • Offer a great social experience and the opportunity to meet like-minded
    people.
  • Develop your skills and self-confidence.
  • Provide you with comprehensive Induction Training and access to our annual Training Calendar (offering certificates in areas such as First Aid, Dementia Awareness and Food Hygiene).
  • Allow you to make a great contribution to your local community.
  • Make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable older people in Cowal.
